Today We...

Today we...

- went for a bike ride/walk in the rain.
- made, decorated, and wrote out Valentine's Day Cards.
- conducted Science Experiments with water, oil, vinegar, food coloring, baking soda, sugar crystals, and more.
- created a "car show" with all types of vehicles.

...all between 4pm and 6pm!

sounds fun! Where did you get the ideas for the science experiments? We could use some more activities around here!

Logan got a science kit for his b-day. He used up the stuff it came with in about 5 minutes but I saved all the beakers, measuring cups, mixers, etc.

We hadn't played with it for a while but I decided to get it out. Basically, all we did was mix things together (not following a true experiment recepie)- water, baking soda, flour, oil, food coloring, vinegar, and sugar and salt crystals. I really tried to "play it up" and get the kids real excited. Logan even "wrote" some observations about his experiments!

I've been so bored with all the regular toys we have. We have so many but... it's bad news when even I am tired of them!!

We've also had fun lately making treasure maps and scavenger hunts.

I'm sure there are some books out there (and websites, too) about "easy and fun things to do with preschoolers!

Thanks for the ideas! I am torn between wanting to entertain the kids and really needing them to entertain themselves. Good to have something in mind when I am up for interacting... ;-)
