The Sixth Sense

I think my kids have a sixth sense... it's the sense where they always need "Mama" as soon as I am ready to relax... lounge on the couch to read my book, check my email, unwind with a glass of wine, lay in the warm sun, read the latest gossip magazine, or call an old friend to catch up.

Sometimes... I take multiple showers throughout the day just to have a little quiet time. That's okay, isn't it? I also tried to play "my version" of hide-and-seek where I go to the other end of the house/camp for a little reprieve but my "L friends" always find me!

Hhhmmmm. Interesting. Very interesting.

Good Old Fashioned T-Storms

We were awakened this morning by the sound of thunder booming in the sky accompanied with flashes of lightening and sheets of rain. I always remember the great storms that would come up over the lake here in NY. The fog would roll in, the wind picked up, and clouds grew dark. The forecast calls for thunderstorms and rain throughout the day. And let me tell you- there were some loud crackles and bright flashes in the sky at 6am!

Leah's Reaction: crying and screaming in bed, "I hate these thunders. When will it go away?"

Logan's Reaction: "I had no idea about these storms. I didn't expect it to be this bad! I woke up and was freaking out!"

Happy Day!

Snacktime!

We are hooked on a new kids CD- Snacktime by Barenaked Ladies.

I personally enjoy Barenaked Ladies and have fond memories of listening to their music throughout my college and post-college days. I was thrilled when I noticed their new CD- for kids!!! This collection is funny, entertaining, and contains songs and lyrics that both children and adults will enjoy. Our car rides are much happier now... much happier.

Leah's Favorite Song: Popcorn
Logan's Favorite Song: Allergies

Happy

It always makes me feel good, real good, when people comment on how well-behaved our children are!!

We were at dinner last night and the majority of people who attended did not have kids. The L kids were great- well-mannered, polite, a little rambunctious but hey, they are kids!! It probably helped that there was a fire for Logan to attend to and Leah was amused by the only other child present, a 3 1/2 month old baby- right up her alley.

Thanks to Anthony and Roger for a fun and relaxing evening- for both the kids and parents!!
